PMI Chapter of the Year 2024
We are proud to announce that PMI Kazakhstan Chapter has been awarded the prestigious international PMI Chapter of the Year 2024. It is the first recognition of this level in our country’s history — highlighting outstanding achievements in advancing project management in Kazakhstan and our significant contribution to the global professional community.
This is the award our chapter received from PMI — separate from the Chapter Award, the award our chapter presents to Kazakhstan’s best projects. About the Award →

Six years in the making
Over six years our chapter has shown steady growth and strengthened cooperation with key organisations and educational institutions of Kazakhstan.
Memoranda of understanding with:
- ✓Our volunteers initiated a project to translate the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) into Kazakh, making globally recognised standards accessible to Kazakhstani professionals.
- ✓An important milestone was our team’s participation in drafting project-management legislation — demonstrating our influence on professional standards at the state level.
What the award means
The PMI Chapter of the Year award is given for leadership, innovation and outstanding contribution to the profession. We are grateful to our members, volunteers and partners for their support. This achievement became possible thanks to the joint work of our whole team — and we are committed to further strengthening our position as a leader in project management in Kazakhstan.
The chapter had entered the award in earlier years as well. Before 2024 the criteria were largely unclear and a win felt out of reach — but it was the accumulated base of earlier submissions and the persistence of our past president that paved the way to the 2024 victory. The credit therefore belongs not only to the current team, but to every previous board and volunteer.
This award is not for a single year — it honours years of work by our volunteers and board members of past years who built the chapter’s foundation. We share it with everyone who has been part of the journey.
